Did these three oil sketches early this morning . . . just kind of playing around . . .I gessoed several 5"x 7" pieces of watercolor paper the other day . . . that is what they are painted on . . . great for quick practice. . . the painting"Tonya" is overworked and had a ugly mustard undertone to begin with . . . I have been having so much trouble getting the "mouth" right . . . bright red but subtle rather than "painted on" afterward . . .anyway I like the mouth on this one but that's about all . . . nothing "special" today . . . it's important for people to realize there are plenty of days when the "good stuff" just doesn't come off the end of the brush and you have to muddle through . . . looking forward to new stuff tomorrow . . .
