Day 177-180 Did Ya Miss Me?

THE MISSIONS

I'm back . . . after a solid 4 days of painting for the Reservation Views exhibit . . . figure we traveled 300 to 400 miles around the area . . . I'm working backwards on posting the nine or so paintings I did . . . as several are now in the exhibit . . . this is the final one I did from the Mission valley South of Ronan . . . it is just a small chunk of the Mission Mountain Range . . . Day 170 Rainy with a Slight Chance of Rain

MAKE THE CLOUDS GO AWAY

Here is a wonderful little piece I did on the Flathead River Tuesday . . . did one real similar for the Bigfork Museum of Art & History "quick finish" auction last night . . . this one is the better of the two . . . simply because it was done "en plein air" and retains the "liveliness" that comes when you tackle a scene the first time. . .The title refers to the fact that I had this sky full of big bold clouds that created a very unnatural "V" right in the middle of the painting . . . thanks to my painting pals for their honest critique . . . I "fixed' the clouds by wiping them out . . . wish we could do the same with the weather now . . . we are on our 3rd day of continuous rain! . . . no plein air today :( . . . Enjoy!
