Wow! Can't believe how long it has been since I posted . . . switched to an iPad and updated to a 27" MAC. . . so have been busy and distracted with new programs, apps, websites and stuff . . . not to mention the over 8,000 photographs that got moved over to my new computers . . . so here goes . . . going to start off showing you a bit of 2011 work that was done and/or sold towards the end of the year! . . . Also (and especially if you are viewing this via e-mail) . . . I will be updating the Events & Exhibition Information along the right side of the blog page . . . time to start plugging in the 2012 plans!

These 2 little paintings sold from the Gallerie @ Piney Creek to a Canadian buyer. Work from this series has been fairly popular and most of it is currently on display at the gallery at 100 Central in Whitefish, Montana.

Yes I'm still alive . . . With all the time I have been spending on my iPad you would think my blog would be up to date . . . Thursday, July 14th from 6-8p.m. you’re invited to attend a VIP Grand Opening Reception for The Gallerie at Piney Creek. Located at 100 Central in Whitefish above Piney Creek Interiors, I am honored to be represented by this new gallery along with Joe Abbrescia, Mary Kelley, Thomas G. Lewis, Toni Whitney and Brandon Wiese.

Friday, July 15th from 5:30-8:00 p.m. please join Glenn and I at the Saddle Up and Paint Auction at the Flathead Lake Lodge BBQ Pavilion. Glenn will be providing music throughout the evening and selected works by my self and eighteen other artists will be auctioned off to benefit the Bigfork Museum of Art & History. The evening includes Hors d’oeuvres and a cash bar. Tickets are $30 members/$35non-members and available at the museum or The Jug Tree in Bigfork or call the museum at 837-6927 to have them reserved and waiting at the door.

Saturday, August 6th from 5:00 to 10:00p.m.Taste of Kalispell returns this year bigger and better than ever! Including the opening reception for the first annual Taste of Kalispell Art Exhibition, displayed in the Main Entrance Hall of the Central School Museum. Works from nearly two dozen local artists, depicting either a historical or contemporary aspect of the greater Flathead valley will be featured. Along with all the traditional food, beverages, music, raffles and prizes provided by the Taste of Kalispell vendors, I will be donating an original painting done especially for the event.

Finally if you get a chance to visit Glacier be sure to stop by Montana House in Apgar Village. I delivered 50 new pieces to them yesterday and it is the perfect place for high quality, fine crafted art and gift items all made by Montana artists!

( I know but I really did want one someday!) . . . so here is my first "chainsaw" sculpture . . . not that I wanted a bear . . .but I figured "everybody" does bears so they must be pretty easy . . . I don't know what I do with all my time! . . . but finally got some photos done . . . not necessarily caught up but enough to offer some posts for a while . . . will start with something a little different . . . a portrait I did this week from last summer's "Alamo" party photos. . . the photo is better but this is cousin Patrick . . . and I thought he looked so much like a young Jessie James . . . just had to do a painting as well . . . got a new monitor for one of my older laptops . . . so can project my photos on the screen next to my easel . . . doing more from photos than usual . . . mostly because our weather is more than a month behind and have only done one "plein air"piece so far this year . . . probably had 24 to 30 done by May 1st last year! . . . Here is the clock I made for and sold at the Bigfork Museum of Art & History' It's About Time Exhibition! . . . the title is "Time Pieces" and it is made of five separate 3.75x5" panels . . . each of which were covered with a mixed media "paper mosaic" design . . . each panel also had a small block attached to the back which allows then to "stick out from the wall (float) . . . and the 4 panels with numbers can be re-arranged around the "center" . . . wish I had a better photo . . . but I think you'll get the idea! Next Up stayed tuned for the pieces now on display at the Sandpiper Gallery . . . the show was hung Monday so will start posting pieces from that! Enjoy!

Red Linen Barn (on the Flathead River)

Had to pick a painting to donate to the Lighthouse Christian Home auction (March 11th) . . . the top one was painted just a 1/4 mile North on the home . . . so thought it might be nice . . . spent over an hour trying to find the photo of it . . . only to discover I apparently never took a photo or posted it (done last June) . . . so here it is . . . it was in my show at the Sandpiper Gallery last summer too . . . so it's weird that I missed it somehow along the way . . . after all that I decided to donated the Red Linen Barn painting instead . . . Barns are more of a "people pleaser" and the crowd is not a real big "art" buying group so hope it appeals to more bidders . . . Enjoy!

Happy New Year! - 4x6 - ink on paper

okay here's the plan for 2011 . . . this is my new cool storage box with divider tabs and 500 4x6 index cards . . . of course I plan to paint this year . . . but I've decided to do a 4x6 "drawing a day"for my blog . . . the biggest reason . . .they won't take up nearly the room the over 500 paintings I did in 2010 do . . . notice the black Flair pen . . .I love them . . . I remember thinking how cool there were when they first came out . . . I use to buy one at a time with my "back to school" supplies and always wished I could have one of every color . . . going to start off the year with just black . . . may add color later . . . here's a little blurb about Flair pens . . .

With REAL Fur Ears!

My latest project . . . I found this rocking horse in the thrift store over a year ago. . . it was painted duct tape grey with white "spray painted" spots and had a snarly carpet yarn tail and mane. . . as you can see I completely "redid" it . . . for my granddaughter . . . but he will "live" at Gramma's house. . . Merry Christmas!

Here are some photos of the Paddle Art project I did for the upcoming (January 20th) auction to benefit the Tamarack Grief Resource Center & Camp Remember . . . done in acrylics which were a pain to work with for me. . . I designed nearly two dozen "ideas" for this and kept changing my mind . . . the paddle is studded with a total of 16 crystals . . . 8 depict the Big Dipper & the North Star . . . last year these paddles went for between $550 & $1050 . . . so will see! . . . Enjoy!
